Save Ritsona’s Child Friendly Space

In the center of Greece, Ritsona Refugee Camp houses more than 1,000 residents who have fled war and conflict in search of safety and security. Thirty-five percent are children and youth under the age of 18, many of whom are coping with the unimaginable hardships of trauma and loss. To provide psychosocial support for this age group, Lighthouse Relief operates two safe spaces within the camp—the Child Friendly Space (CFS) and Youth Engagement Space (YES). Both areas provide children and youth in the camp with daily programming that includes art, sports, and diverse workshops. Through our activities, staff and volunteers also serve as a vital source of protection. By working with partner organizations, we help ensure every child in need receives adequate care and support.
We are a small organization with a big heart. Every time we put on our Lighthouse Relief vests, we strive to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life. However, we can’t continue to do this without your help.
